The Bite is a drama with six seasons based around an epidemic, produced with Spectrum Originals & CBS Studios. She appeared with Taylor Schilling & Steven Pasquale. McDonald played U.S. prosecutor Liz Lawrence in the first episode of her role played on the CBS drama The Good Wife legal drama in 2009. It was her turn to reprise the role in the year 2018, playing season main character Liz Reddick in Paramount+'s The Good Fight. As a result of the role she played, McDonald received three Critics Choice Award nominees. She guest stars as a guest star in Julian Fellowes historical drama The Gilded Age.
