Awkwafina
American actor and musician Awkwafina began her career with hilarious hip-hop tracks that addressed sexuality and racial identities with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before broadening her reach to Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was via the trumpet. Jazz, classical and hip-hop studies began when she was in her teens. In the school, she focused on the field of journalism as well as women's studies. She was also a student of Mandarin briefly in Beijing. Following graduation, she decided to pursue music as her main focus. The song My Vag which was her response to Mickey Avalons My Dick, became a viral hit on the Internet and was later featured on her debut LP Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hits like the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC BitcheUSD. The latter track was tied to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. Alongside being a published author, her other career was as a performer. Aside from early TV programs like Girl Code and Tawk, she's also appeared in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she scored many notable roles that were a breakthrough, like Dude Ocean's 8, or Crazy Rich Asians. That June she issued the EP in Fina We Trust.
